Apple TV + Skydance • In-House Art + Key Art

I worked on this project in the pre-production stage as a concept illustrator and then later worked on this project with an agency as a key art designer. I designed the costume concepts for a few key characters on this project, and the key art for this movie was eventually displayed all over Los Angeles for a bit! It was a super fun and unique experience to be able to create art for the pre and post-production phases!

These are a couple out of many 2D and 3D clothing design and color explorations. My concepts shaped the final 3D renders of the main character, Sam. I also further explored more color combinations with our modeler once 3D character models were finalized.

This was the concept deck page for the caseworker. She's an elegant, no-nonsense Japanese woman. I was inspired by classy golden accessories, and of course I wanted her to have a killer pair of accent glasses! This piece, among a few others, was published in the official The Art and Making of Luck Artbook

This was the concept deck page for the Mrs. Rivera, the manager of a girls' orphanage. She helped raise the main character Sam. I added small touches like colorful fabrics and accessories to reflect her Mexican heritage. Small gifted friendship bracelets tell a story of how much the girls at the orphanage love her, and the patterns resemble traditional Mexican designs as well.

Part 2: Agency Key Art

My team and I designed all of the advertising for Luck. This was a huge project for us. For the main poster, I had a hand in helping design the water effects and also many of our environment displays. A version of this was displayed on the walls of Hotel Figueroa in Downtown LA.

I was tasked with creating key art for the Lunar New Year release in China. I came up with a lot of the concept illustrations in this project, using red envelopes and the traditional red and gold colors as recurring motifs in the artwork.
